Basic Info
Name: Zephyr Lyon Shadiene
Age: 24
Birthday: May 3rd
Height: 6'
Weight: 169 lbs.
Hair: Black
Eyes: Blue

Note: Zephyr can be played at any of the following points:
-16 (Normal human, very slight dark magic)
-18 ('Super-Soldier', heavy dark magic)
-20 (Corrupted body, heavy dark magic)
-24 (Healthy, ageless, god of darkness)

World:
Zephyr hails from a version of Earth in the not-so distant future. Most countries are on the brink of global war for resources. Technology is about the same as modern tech, although there have been some advancements in science and medicine. Rumors speak of nefarious human experimentation to create genetically altered 'super-soldiers'.

Recent findings have also uncovered what's believed to be the remnants of a lost city, presumably Atlantis. The body of an enormous beast was also discovered among the ruins of the sunken city. Rough translation of found texts state that the monster was a god known as the Leviathan, a monster that held domain over water and darkness. Texts also declare the existence of two others, the Behemoth and Quetzalcoatl. Further proof of these creatures has yet to be discovered.

Magic exists in the world, although it's very uncommon. It used to be much more common in the distant past. Even so, magic isn't an all-powerful thing. Sure, it can perform small feats that ordinary people are incapable of, such as speeding up the growth of plants, or conjuring a fire in the strongest winds, but it takes considerable effort to control and master. However, there are those who wish to combine science and magic together for something far stronger.

Personality:
The first impression most people have of Zephyr is that he's very calm. He doesn't simply rush into things without planning ahead or thinking of the situation, unless there's no other choice. He's not a very spontaneous person. However, no matter what, he doesn't let his thoughts and worries of what may come get him down. He'll take things as they come, good or bad, and deal with them as best he can. It's rare to find him complaining about something, unless it's in a joking manner. Unlike his sister though, Zephyr is relatively wary of other people. He doesn't give his trust to anyone unless they've earned it.

While he has that icy calm exterior, he's one of the most kindhearted people you're likely to meet, always putting other's needs before his own, even so far as giving his life to save someone he loves without hesitation. He's the type of guy to drop everything he's doing to help someone out, unless of course, it's someone who's just being lazy or something like that. Zephyr doesn't care much for being taken advantage of. He cares very much about his family and friends, to the point where he can be a bit overprotective at times. If requested, he'll back off though.

Zephyr may be relatively laid back, but he doesn't beat around the bush. If there's something he wants to say, he'll say it. Unless the situation calls for some tact, anyway. Most of the time though, he's pretty chill. Honestly, besides hanging out with friends and family, Zephyr's idea of a good time is kicking back with a book or a jigsaw puzzle. Just things to keep his mind occupied and working. His other hobbies include caring for a pet tegu, tending to a saltwater aquarium, origami, and sometimes forms of Yoga or other exercises.

Speaking of books, he's extremely intelligent. Especially when it comes to mathematics and scientific equations. He doesn't like to show it as he finds it a bit embarrassing, but the guy reads college level textbooks. As in front to back, without prompting. There's a reason his sister pesters him for help with her math work.

His greatest fear is failure. Failure to meet his friends and family's expectations, failure to protect those he loves, and failure to help those in need. It's something that haunts him, but he refuses to tell anyone. It's his own problem, and he'll be the one to face it. It's not a crippling fear, but it's enough to distract him at times.

While he's skilled in combat, Zephyr hates fighting. However, he understands that there are times when there's no choice. Even his fighting style shows his distaste for fighting. He's fast, and aims to end it quickly, by either disarming, knocking out, or giving his opponent a quick, painless death.

Overall, Zephyr's a pretty nice guy. He likes to relax, chat with friends, and partake in other everyday activities. It's not difficult to get along with him unless you've done something he detests, have harmed one of his loved ones, or are plainly looking for a fight.

Abilities:
Zephyr's family is one of the few strong magic bloodlines left in the world. While his mother and sister use earth magic, Zephyr utilizes dark magic to control darkness itself. While it seems powerful (and it is), there are limitations and rules to this. He cannot use the darkness located inside a living being. However, darkness from shadows, inside sleeves, dark rooms, etc. are all fair game. He can use his magic to create solid objects, such as blades, clothing, furniture and the like, but he cannot create living beings. It can also be used as a wild and unpredictable weapon in a form of energy, volatile and whipping about, lashing at opponents to grab them, or in bursts of razor-sharp energy. He can also sense things that touch darkness, making him most formidable at night. No matter where you are, he'll be able to feel your every move.

The downside to using dark magic, is that it's exhausting. Periods of long use cause a great amount of fatigue on the user. It's also corrupting. Prolonged exposure to dark magic will eventually corrupt the user, body, mind, and soul. Until it fully possesses the user and controls them. Younger Zephyr is susceptible to this, but older Zephyr is not.

One of the things he uses his magic most for is to become darkness, making him intangible for brief periods of time. This exhausts him relatively quickly, but it allows him to move, shift position, and strike extremely quickly. He can also sort of patch up injuries, creating false flesh and tissue, but this speeds up the corruption process.

Zephyr is an extremely skilled swordsman, specializing in lightning-fast strikes with two blades. He's very athletic, and uses his knowledge of physics to help turn his opponent's own attacks against them.
